Personal Info: Noura Eissa is a Ph.D. holder from Cairo University, Euro-Med program with a specialized discipline in International Economics and Global markets particularly International Political Economy IPE, Economic bloc integrations, trade gravity models, law and public policies related to economics. She obtained her MA and BA of Art in Economics from the American University in Cairo AUC. As an Arab who has studied and engaged in various disciplines, she has the ability to break down disciplinary boundaries between economics and politics shaping them and delivering them to students under the philosophical and theoretical understanding of Middle Eastern environmental conditions, social cultures, ideologies and communication strategies. Agreeing with Classical economists such as Adam Smith and David Ricardo, she believes that political externalities stem out of international economic activities with a growing consensus regarding the beneficial effects of international trade on political and international relationships. Teaching methods in her lectures are targeted towards developing firm transferable skills for the students to later use when holding leadership positions. This includes pre-planned PowerPoint Presentations, in-class group assignments and debates, guest speakers, student conferences and workshops, as well as research papers enriching the students' individual development. Related topics of interest where research has been conducted include a comparative political and economic analysis of regional blocs such as the EU and the GCC, theoretical analysis of theories related to International affairs and to regional bloc integration, non-renewable energy and its economic and social impact on the GCC, economic and political absorptive capacity of the GCC, free trade area agreements, trade and FDI relations of the GCC with the rest of the world and with the European Union in specific, a comparison between the EU unified currency and the desired unified currency for the Gulf countries. In the long run, she would like to add value to her students positively forcing them to strive to achieve leadership roles in the global world today and aiding them with analytical and empirical skills. She is a dedicated person who can manage her time wisely, thus working well with the different requirements of the job. She has ten years of teaching experience in the field at several reputable universities. She has taught various levels of courses starting with 200 to 400 level courses. Financial crises undergo a series of stages usually with various stage differences between advanced and emerging economies. Egypt, as an emerging economy, was resilient to the world financial crisis of 2008 however during its own political unrest of 2011 onward; a financial crisis hit the economy rather hard. This paper will compare between the reasons which allowed the economy to survive a global crisis and fail to get out of domestic political unrest. A qualitative research methodology will be used to analyze the Egyptian central bank performance during the two periods based on internal factors such as isomorphism, capacity and capability building, as well as external factors such as government support, overall macroeconomic performance, and external discipline provided by market forces. The paper will assess the central bank system during the two periods, analyze the main concerns related to the central bank performance, and provide a framework for maintain a sustainable sound banking system that can survive future external or internal shocks. E-Learning Strategies: A More Adaptable System or a Threatening One? Case Study on Universities in Lebanon, Kuwait and Egypt

Abstract: E-learning strategies in educational institutions have gained a magnified momentum over the past several years especially in Middle Eastern countries. This paper analyzes the extent of change and innovation in e-learning strategies in the evolution of educational systems in three Middle Eastern countries Egypt, Lebanon, and Kuwait. The main question that is considered is whether innovation in e-learning strategies in such educational systems are considered to be a threat or a promise to such countries. The research, divided into two sections, a qualitative and a quantitative, is based on a comparative analysis on educational systems in Egypt, Lebanon, and Kuwait. The first section is a qualitative one, displaying (1) the stages of educational development in the selected countries (2) identifying the challenges faced by each country in terms of implementing e-learning strategies and (3) raising questions to be answered in the quantitative analysis. The quantitative section is based on a survey distributed among a sample of 100 random citizens in Egypt of various nationalities, where the subjects mark on a Likert scale whether they feel that such innovations are appropriate or not in their personal opinion. Fifty of the chosen sample is university lecturers, regardless of which university they are currently teaching in, and the other fifty involve students from various universities. This research aims to show the different ideologies that are inherited by the students and faculty members and society in general regarding the reliability of e-learning strategies in their educational systems and whether such ideologies are based on cultural determinism or not.
